Re: Letter of Reference for Kruz
I am pleased to provide this letter of reference for my son’s tutor, Kruz. I must start by saying that Kruz is so much more than a tutor; he has become a mentor and a friend for my son, J. The level of care and attention that Kruz puts into making a lesson plan for each tutoring session makes the time they have together impactful and engaging. From the very beginning he made it a point to really get to know J and built a strong foundation that has helped him learn not just math, but confidence as well. Kruz spent time assessing J's strengths and areas for growth and kept me informed throughout.
Kruz brings a great sense of humour and positive energy to every interaction. There have been days when my son has had a bad day at school, and he shuts down, but Kruz gets through to him and he leaves his tutoring time smiling and recharged. Kruz just gets J in ways I wish his teacher could. His idea to break up the session with movement breaks is exactly what J needs - he has tailored his entire time with J, specific to J.
Many tutors I interviewed were hesitant to take on a student with disabilities and neurodiversity, but Kruz comes equipped with a skillset and patience that allows my son to be himself. Since J began his tutoring, he has enjoyed school more, understands the concepts easier, and feels more confident in his ability to learn. I always feel informed and receive regular progress reports and requests for information to ensure the tutoring sessions are meeting J’s needs.
When I ask J to describe Kruz using one word, that word is “AWESOME!”. From my son, that is high praise!
